Fruit Salad- Filipino style

HiEllo bloggers!

This morning the bird chirping so early in the morning around 630am by my bedroom window started to test my patience. Then, seasonal allergies acted on me (sneezing, itchy eyes & nose) uugghh tough morning. I took a short nap in the other bedroom and it did help a LOT!!! now i can share something i made this morning, It's NOT a paper craft...

I made a dessert!!! A  Buko salad, Filipino style. There are a lot of style or variations when it comes to making fruit salad Filipino-style, but one recipe stands out,  the "buko" salad. Buko is a Filipino word for young or green coconut, and it is one of the main ingredients of Filipino sweets and deserts. The recipe uses the shredded coconut, and the chewy translucent coconut cubes known as nata de coco, along with other ingredients. Here I added a can of tropical fruits. Since i dont have  fresh fruits available on hand, the one in can works well and sometimes if you need more you can use the fruit cups which you can purchase in your local supermarket like "Target" for me here. The result is a very tasty treat that is easy to prepare. Best to serve when chilled.

If you have questions, just leave comments and/or email me.  :)  Have a Wonderful Tuesday everyone!!!!

Spring time

HiEllo bloggers! Happy Super Sunday!!! Here is a card for Spring time again. While digging through my  stack of stamps, I saw this cute Peachy Keen Stamps - frog cutting dye. I remember I bought this during the Summer 2010 CHA here in Chicago. And also, this cute card reminds me of my son's Stage play: Streamwood Park District presents "The Frog Prince" on May 22, 2011...

1x1  - 10pcs connected to each other by sewing it. Alternating pattern.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

HiEllo and Happy St. Patrick's day everyone!!!!! this morning i decided to make a quick give away to my son's teacher in honor of St. Patrick's day. It is a pin. This project is basically the same project to President's day. A project made of aluminum cans or soda cans. (7Up because of the color green). This time i only use my Nestabilities dyes and did dry embossing using my cuttlebug  swiss dots pattern... hope you all will like it!!!

Food

Today I decided to cook Pancit so I can bring it to work since today is my last day to work... A lot of rumors going around that i resigned, but what I did was really just changed my status from part time employee to PRN or only as needed. So, basically I am still connected with the company. I just needed more time offs to spend quality time with my family and of course got to insert this: craft time.....

So, talking about the food i cooked, this is called Pancit or pansit. This is the term for noodles in Filipino cuisine. Noodles were introduced into the Philippines by the Chinese and have since been adopted into local cuisine.

Chocolate cake in a box

HiEllo to all of you!!! Yesterday was my co-worker's last day at work and i decided to bake chocolate and place it in a box. The final box size is 5" x 5" x 3 1/2". If you have some questions, please feel free to ask.

March: National Craft month

Hello Everyone!!! March is the National Craft month. This 31-day month is nothing different to other months to highlight your artistic side. But to celebrate this month you can try celebrating it by using different techniques that you don't usually apply or use. As for me, I will be working on it as soon as i can and i will be posting it too!

Have fun and feel free to share, Mr Linky is just right here!!!...
